The Details: There’s an interesting demarcation happening in the Home Improvement space this Black Friday. Among the four main local stores, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Ace Hardware and True Value, there’s a surprising lack of consistency.
The Good: Lowe’s is going all out for Black Friday, opening their doors at 5:00 A.M., stretching their sale out all the way through Monday the 28th and allowing preview sites to continue to post their huge sale circular. They are even allowing you to take advantage of Black Friday prices online on Thanksgiving day!
The Ugly: And then there’s Home Depot and Ace Hardware. If you’re trying to be an informed Black Friday shopper, your job has been made just a little bit harder. Home Depot and Ace Hardware are choosing not to even compete in advance, with no online promotion and demands that Black Friday sales sites remove their leaked ads. Maybe they think that if they close their eyes it will just go away. If it’s worth it to you, you’ll have to keep checking their websites to find out what their offerings will be. They are having current sales and promotions, so maybe your time will be well spent.
